5 Minute Gel Manis and Pedis at Home

Don’t you just love fresh manicures and pedicures?  I think most of us ladies get our nails done before we go on vacation.  We know that we’ll be wearing our sandals and flip-flops by the pool or on the beach and we just like to have fresh shiny nails.  Whenever I travel I like to have gel manicures because the polish never chips off and they last forever.  Thanks to Sally Beauty I can now do my own gel nails at home.

Since I can do my own gel manicures at home and on the go, I brought my new Gel Polish Complete Starter Kit with me on my family vacation to the lake house.  It’s nice and compact for travel and has everything needed for a beautiful manicure or pedicure.

The ASP Soak Off Gel Polish Complete Starter Kit contains:

  • top coat
  • base coat
  • bonder
  • Passionate Pink Gel Polish color
  • 1 oz. 2-n-1 Dehydrator and Cleansing Wipe
  • 1 oz. Conditioning Soak Off Solution
  • ASP Mini LED Curing Lamp

It takes less than 5 minutes for a complete gel manicure or pedicure.  I followed the instructions in the box and the results were nothing short of amazing.

1.  Apply the dehydrator and cleansing solution to clean nails

2. Apply bonder so that the polish adheres to your natural nails (this step is optional)

3. Put nails under the mini LED curing lamp for 30 seconds after each coat starting at this step

4 – 6. Apply 2 coats of gel polish followed by a single layer of top coat. Cure with the LED light for 30 seconds for each layer.

7. Wipe the nails with the dehydrator and cleansing solution to remove the sticky layer that forms.

I honestly can’t get over how quick and easy it is to do my own gel manicures and pedicures at home.  I love that I don’t need an appointment to get gorgeous shiny nails that look great for at least 2 weeks without chipping.  When I’m ready I’ll soak the polish off with the conditioning soak off solution.  You can find this amazing gel manicure set in stores and online at Sally Beauty.  I’m planning to buy an assortment of colors to add to this set so that I’ll be ready for any and all moods!

    Gel on your toes is perfect for beachy manis! My toe polish always chips so quickly due to sand and water so this is the perfect solution!

    In case you wanted to cut down on time even more, try to search for one-step gel polishes. I’m not sure what’s on the market in the US but I’m sure there are plenty of options over there. 🙂 The one I occassionally use is EBD’s q-lac. It is one step, which means you only need to apply the color polish, and it doesn’t have that tacky residue once it’s cured.

    I wish I’d done a gel mani before I went on vacation. The vacation mani I did myself lasted all of two days. You make this look so easy, I’ll have to give it a shot myself!
